UpsideDown Retreat
About
Yuval Oz
Handstand teacher · Stage artist · Musician
Yuval teaches handstands through an approach that combines technique, exploration, creativity, and enjoyment of the process.
With years of experience teaching and performing, he works with practitioners of all levels — from complete beginners to advanced students — focusing on awareness, control, breathing, and efficient movement rather than simply "holding a handstand."
Coming from a background in acrobatics, physical theater, and performance, Yuval brings a playful, dynamic, and artistic perspective into his teaching. During the retreat, he will guide handstand sessions, technical drills, and movement exploration practices designed to help participants develop greater balance, freedom, and confidence in their bodies.
Gil Fox
Freediving instructor & Israeli national record holder
Gil is a freediving instructor and Israeli national record holder with years of experience teaching, coaching, and guiding people both in and out of the water.
His approach to freediving combines technique, relaxation, breathing, and a deep connection to the body and the sea.
Beyond the athletic aspect of freediving, Gil brings a strong sense of calm, presence, and connection to nature into his teaching. At the retreat, he will guide breathing sessions, water adaptation practices, freediving techniques, and mental training exercises designed to help participants feel more relaxed, confident, and connected in the water.
Our freediving instructors bring depth, calm, and expertise to every retreat.
Or Chen
Freediving Instructor
For me, diving is a tool for empowerment and deep inner listening. In surrendering to the water, I meet the most honest version of myself. From that surrender, freedom, calm, and confidence begin to grow and stay with me in everyday life. That’s what I aim to share - an experience of connection, presence, and trust in ourselves.
Or Meron Asher
Freediving Instructor
I'm Or, a freediving instructor and passionate handstand enthusiast. Early in my teaching career I was lucky to join the very first UpsideDown Retreat. There, through Yuval, I first learned to work on handstands with precision and intention — and fell in love with the practice. Gil and Yuval create a space that always draws interesting, curious people, and every time I'm moved by the family atmosphere that forms. In each retreat I look forward to sharing my love of the sea with participants and opening a space to flip upside down and discover new things.
Zohar Medina
Freediving Instructor
Freediving instructor and yoga teacher specializing in pranayama. I came to the UpsideDown Retreat believing that my wrists were too weak and that I would never be able to do a handstand. Today, I can already hold a handstand and am starting to play around with different leg variations.
